I made a short youtube series on it, but ended up giving up once I got to the Great Tower. The level introduced so many new possibilities; I was overwhelmed, and accepted that the game was too difficult for me.
About 2 weeks ago, I was browsing my library for something new to play, and decided to try Stephen’s Sausage Roll one more time. I started fresh, and made my way back to the Great Tower, expecting to get stuck and give up again. However, after playing around for a minute, I suddenly understood exactly how to solve it. What I began to realize from that moment on is that every puzzle in this game is very fair. Even the default positions of the sausages give you hints on how to complete the levels.
As of today, I have cooked every sausage in Stephen’s Sausage Roll. Thank you Stephen, for this wonderful, fresh, and challenging experience.
PS – My favourite moment in the game is when you pull the grill up from the water in Dead End, I gasped and stared at the screen for a moment when it happened.

Who will cook the last sausage, though?

(If it is, it probably shouldn’t autosave – yes I know I can load a previous save)

You have perfectly captured the essence of what I was going to say here. Thank you for writing it down.

@Stephen

The puzzles are extremely well designed and most of them are hard, but not artificially hard. No, once you understand the relevant game mechanics (trial and error is key) and what the level asks of you (a few levels took me 2 hours), you will be able to find a clear-cut solution.

In almost all of the later levels I initially thought “this is impossible!! :(” but I never gave up and it paid off!

Stephen, if you read this: would you mind giving a short insight into your design process for the puzzles?

Thanks a lot for such an amazing game!
