I miss you

The server code is possibly something that’ll be shared amongst several games in future, so I’m keeping it all on github here (done in python w/ twisted).

I’d appreciate if you could let me know what bugs you encounter/random suggestions, because I want to work on this framework a little more and do more projects with it.

I got ‘there has been an error / timeout’ my first time. Second time and it’s working, now to find someone…

It just says “I’m in your house” and stops. Do we need to play with somebody far away?

  3. There’s not much of a difference either way in terms of length.

He’s online, I messaged him 5 minutes ago, why won’t he respond?
    Clever.

Oh, clever. I thought I could do this by opening it in another window… of course you had already thought of that, LOL.

At first, I thought it was like that old campfire story (“But the call was coming …. from INSIDE THE HOUSE!”) because the other window says “Aaah!”

Do you have any instructions? I shared the link, though nothing happened!

  8. Something *should* happen if the other person goes to the link and participates. Do you know what happened on their end?

I couldn’t get this to work with my friend but then again he isn’t very bright. x) But just to clarify: Do we wait for them just at the game’s URL or do we wait for them at the copy/paste URL the game gives us to give to our friend? Because I waited for a while and nothing happened. Then when I tried going to the copy/paste URL it told me there was no one at the other end. My friend saw the game but he said all he could do was move left and right.

  13. Michelle, hey :)

    You load up the game
You get given a url to give to a friend. (do not close or reload your page)
Your friend goes to that url and connects.
Your friend gets a ‘press space to call’ message on screen.
They call you, you get a call on your end.

If you reload or close the original page it will tell you that there’s noone at the other end.

At least that’s how it should work. I tested it there, and that’s how it worked for me.

  15. What do you mean by ‘keeps “on connecting”‘? It doesn’t get past the ‘connecting’ screen?

I tried it there and it worked for me ok. Hmm. :(

  17. I don’t know what’s going on here. I can’t get it to do anything other than work fine :(

Could you tell me your operating system, your browser (including what version), and could you go here ( http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ) and tell me what version of the flash player you have installed?

If you do these things, I can look into it further.
